Behind every Omega-3 Innovations product is the medical training, commitment and passion of its happily-married founders, Dr. Bo Martinsen and Dr. Anne-Marie Chalmers. Between the two of them, Dr. Martinsen and Dr. Chalmers have accumulated many years worth of extensive medical knowledge:
Born and raised in Norway, Dr. Martinsen received medical training at the University of Bordeaux in France and at the University of Oslo. He is ECFMG-certified in the United States. Dr. Martinsen has extensive experience practicing psychiatry, general medicine, neurology and preventive medicine, in addition to training in epidemiology (Ph.D program at the University of Oslo) and business administration. He has served as medical consultant to large international corporations focusing on stress management and synergistic medicine.
Born and raised in the United States, Dr. Chalmers graduated from Interlochen School for the Gifted and Brown University. She completed her medical training at the University of Oslo in Norway. Dr. Chalmers has practiced emergency, family, and preventive medicine for many years, serving both at high-tech hospitals and as a barefoot doctor in rural Norway. Her research and development work has included nutraceuticals (especially omega-3) and medical delivery device systems to facilitate ingestion of multiple medication combinations.
Before Omega3 Innovations, happily married Drs. Bo Martinsen and Anne-Marie Chalmers ran independent practices in Oslo, Norway. From their extensive medical backgrounds, they knew that omega-3 could dramatically improve the health of their patients. But in spite of their recommendations, patients struggled taking the recommended omega-3 supplements. They didn’t like drinking bad-tasting oil, swallowing handfuls of capsules, or burping fish all day.
Seeking a solution to their patient’s compliance problem, the doctors began to research omega-3. In the process, they discovered a little known fact: Truly fresh fish oil, just like fresh fish from a fine seafood restaurant, had no bad taste or smell. Only thing was, a truly fresh omega-3 supplement did not exist on the consumer market.
Moving to the United States, Drs. Bo and Anne-Marie founded Omega3 Innovations in 2006 and developed Omega Cure, a full-spectrum cod liver oil with oxidation levels a fraction of that of regular fish oil products. Since then, the doctors have gone further, creating the patented Omega Cookie, Omega Heaven, and Omega Passion chocolate products that combine clinical doses of omega-3 fish oil with gluten-free oat fiber.
